Jungle Tippets and Leaders

Suggested tippet for Akuani River Lodge (or other similar peacock bass fisheries)

Peacock Bass: 

  • 3-4 feet of 40# or 50# saltwater tippet (fluorocarbon preferred)
  • You can add a foot or two of 50# or 60# hard mono at the front for easier turnover of heavy flies and for bite protection, but it is not necessary.

Payara

  • 3-4 feet of 50# or 60# saltwater tippet (fluorocarbon preferred) with 40# wire bite
