The Bahamas are one of the most iconic fly fishing destinations in the world and arguably the place most closely associated with bonefish.

Hundreds of islands, endless miles of pristine flats, and clear tropical water create an incredible variety of opportunities for sight fishing. While numbers of bonefish can be excellent, the Bahamas are particularly famous for producing large bonefish, including the kind of double-digit fish that keep anglers coming back year after year.

Bonefish may get most of the attention, but they aren't the only reason to bring a fly rod. Permit fishing can be outstanding, yet it often gets overlooked simply because the bonefishing is so good.

The Bahamas also offer legitimate opportunities for tarpon, with fish moving through channels, flats, creeks, and mangrove systems. The remote western side of Andros Island is especially well known for its wild, expansive tarpon habitat.

Whether you're hunting a trophy bonefish across a shallow flat, taking a shot at a permit, or hoping to connect with a tarpon, the Bahamas offer some of the finest saltwater fly fishing on the planet.
