Belize is best known for its world-class permit fishing. With an enormous network of flats, lagoons, mangroves, and offshore cayes, there are seemingly endless places to hunt permit. For many anglers, Belize is where that long-awaited first permit finally comes to hand.

But don't let the permit fishing overshadow everything else. Bonefish are abundant, and tarpon can be found throughout the flats, lagoons, and mangrove systems. With all three species sharing the same incredible ecosystem, Belize offers a legitimate opportunity to complete a Grand Slam — permit, bonefish, and tarpon in a single day.

Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities for other hard-fighting species, including jacks, barracuda, and snook, adding even more variety to an already incredible fishery.
