  • Invented by Pat Dorsey on the South Platte River to entice finicky fish.
  • This pattern has caught on for its productiveness and versatility.
  • Midges are available in most rivers most of the year and are therefore a stable for many trout.
  • This pattern in particular does well when fished deep, in the subsurface, or anywhere in between.
  • CDC along the back helps keep this pattern in the subsurface without the need to apply a float or constantly dry.
  • Sink it with split shot and the CDC gives this pattern an emergence look convincing trout to deal out aggressive strikes.
  • Perfect pattern for this time of year and extremely popular in Western rivers.
