RIO Morrish Pom Skater 2.0 – Steelhead Skating Dry Fly
The RIO Morrish Pom Skater 2.0 builds on one of the most effective steelhead skaters of the past two decades. The original Pompadour Skater earned its reputation with a large, buoyant head and a slender, low-riding rear body, creating a fly that stayed planted—or “sticky”—on the surface.
That surface adhesion is key. When a steelhead charges the fly, displaced water is less likely to push it out of the way, resulting in more committed eats. The Pom Skater also tracks cleanly, skating smoothly without diving or twisting, even in varied currents.
The 2.0 version updates the classic with a modern Ahrex hook, ensuring durability and consistency now that the original heavy-wire hook is no longer available. Added sighter material and subtle hot spots improve visibility for the angler without compromising the fly’s effectiveness. The Black Blue colorway has quickly proven to be a standout option for low light and aggressive fish.
