The RIO Knotty Zirdle blends the best elements of a Girdle Bug and a Zonker, then takes it a step further with knotted rubber legs that add a distinctly creepy-crawly profile. That extra articulation gives the fly more life in the water and sets it apart from standard zirdle-style patterns.

This fly can convincingly pass as a leech or small sculpin, but it truly shines as a fleeing crawdad imitation. The balanced weight creates a neutral swimming behavior, allowing the rabbit strip and knotted legs to pulse and move naturally on the strip or swing.

Fish it stripped, swung, or dead-drifted near the bottom when trout and bass are keyed in on larger, protein-rich prey.
