Lamson Litespeed M Reel
Description
The Lamson Litespeed M Fly Reel takes the lightweight, high-retrieval design of the Litespeed and builds it specifically for saltwater. With an oversized arbor, exceptionally low weight, and Lamson's waterproof Cobalt hybrid drag, the Litespeed M is designed for anglers who want serious saltwater performance without hanging a heavy reel off the end of the rod.
The Litespeed M uses an open space-frame construction that strategically places material along critical load paths. The result is impressive strength and rigidity with very little unnecessary weight. Even the 12-weight model weighs just 8 ounces, while the 8-weight comes in at only 5.7 ounces.
Inside is Lamson's Cobalt hybrid drag system, featuring a fixed spindle, large heat-dissipating conical surfaces, close-tolerance composite bearings, and a linear spring system optimized for each reel size. The entire system carries an IPX8 waterproof rating to 100 feet, helping keep saltwater, sand, and debris away from critical drag components.
A super-large arbor provides fast line pickup—particularly valuable when bonefish, permit, tarpon, and other saltwater species suddenly turn and run back toward us. The larger arbor also reduces line memory and helps maintain more consistent drag pressure as backing leaves the spool.
Available in sizes 6, 8, 10, and 12, the Lamson Litespeed M delivers an unusual combination of large capacity, fast retrieval, powerful waterproof drag, and extremely low weight for demanding saltwater fly fishing.
