The RIO Premier Glacial Gold is a cold-weather trout line built specifically for anglers who keep fishing when temperatures drop below freezing. While traditional fly line coatings can become stiff, brittle, and difficult to handle in extreme cold, the Glacial Gold uses PolarFlex technology to remain soft, pliable, and functional in temperatures 40°F and below.
Built around RIO’s proven Gold taper, the Glacial Gold retains the versatile casting performance of an all-around trout line. It handles small dries and dry-dropper rigs with excellent presentation while providing enough power for larger dries and light indicator setups.
The specialized PolarFlex coating also helps reduce line memory and improve durability in extreme cold, keeping the line easier to handle when ice is forming in the guides and ordinary trout lines begin to stiffen. For dedicated winter trout anglers, the Glacial Gold combines familiar RIO Gold performance with a coating designed specifically for the coldest days of the season.
