It’s big, floats like a buoy, and anyone can tell what this pattern is imitating.
This fly uses the MassHopper platform that’s modified to the specs of a cicada. It has the segmented, extended foam abdomen and 12mm of foam for the thorax.
Add on a thick elk hair wing and more foam on top and this pattern might as well be classified as a PFD."
