Lamson Cobalt Fly Rod
Description
Gun control? Not that kind.
But if you’ve ever stood on the bow with 20 knots in your face and a permit sliding by at 70 feet… “hand cannon” starts to make sense.
The Lamson Cobalt is a purpose-built saltwater fly rod designed for one job: deliver blistering line speed and wind-cutting loops when the shot actually counts. Think of your fly as a projectile, your fly line as the powder charge, and that fish as a moving target that won’t wait for you to false cast.
Built on a hyper-fast (ultra fast) blank, the Cobalt is engineered to fire tight, high-velocity casts — yet it still keeps enough flex in the tip and mid-section to let you feel the rod load. The result is a rod that’s fast and lethal, but not dead.
And when the fish changes direction and you need to pick up a long carry and re-cast immediately, the Cobalt has the deep muscle to lift line off the water and send it again.
Based on Lamson’s proven SS-Salt blanks, upgraded with dialed saltwater hardware and Lamson’s proprietary Lockdown™ reel seat, the Cobalt is their next evolution in saltwater performance.
Available in a full range of calibers — from flats finesse to full-blown big game.
