Barr’s Emerger Glass Bead PMD
The Barr’s Emerger Glass Bead PMD is a deadly transitional pattern built for trout feeding just below the surface during Pale Morning Dun hatches. Designed to imitate PMDs, Sulphurs, Hendricksons and more as they rise and struggle to emerge, this fly targets one of the most consistent—and vulnerable—stages of the hatch.
The lightly weighted glass bead allows the fly to sink softly and hover in the film without dragging it unnaturally deep. Its slim profile and lifelike silhouette make it especially effective on pressured fish, clear water, and during prolonged PMD emergence when trout key on emergers rather than duns.
Fish it as the point fly in a nymph rig, under an indicator, or just beneath a dry when trout are bulging but not fully committing to the surface.
