Orvis SuperFine Graphite Rod
Description
Classic Small-Stream Performance, Reimagined
The Orvis Superfine® Graphite Fly Rod series carries forward one of the most legendary lineups in fly fishing. More than 50 years ago, Orvis introduced the original graphite fly rods—among the first ever built—and a special subset of those rods became cult favorites among anglers who cherished delicate presentation and exceptional small-stream performance. Names like The One-Weight, The Ultrafine, The Tippet, The Seven/Eleven, and The Far & Fine became icons for anglers who preferred finesse over brute force.
The modern Superfine Graphite series honors those legendary rods with the same classic names, lengths, and line weights, while incorporating advanced Helios™ construction techniques for improved tracking, recovery, and casting accuracy. Built with lower modulus graphite, these rods deliver the smooth slow-to-moderate actions that protect light tippets and present dry flies with exceptional delicacy.
Designed specifically for small streams, technical dry fly fishing, and light-line presentation, the Superfine Graphite rods excel when precision, feel, and finesse matter most.
Each rod features a matte gray blank with a shallow taper, accented by a vintage white label and handwritten script that reflects the heritage of the original series. Premium components include a black anodized aluminum uplocking reel seat with cork insert, hard chrome snake guides, chrome stripping guides with silicon carbide inserts, and a classic cigar-style cork grip for comfortable casting.
As a finishing touch, the legendary rod name is laser-engraved on the butt cap, connecting each rod directly to its historic predecessor.
Proudly Made in the USA, the Superfine Graphite series blends classic fly rod feel with modern performance for anglers who appreciate the art of small-stream fishing.
