Michigan is one of the greatest fly fishing states in America. Surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes and home to more than 11,000 inland lakes and thousands of miles of rivers and streams, it offers an incredible variety of fishing opportunities. Whether you're swinging flies for chrome-bright steelhead, casting dry flies to rising trout, or chasing warmwater species on a quiet lake, Michigan has something to offer every fly angler.

The state is famous for its outstanding trout and salmon fisheries. Legendary rivers like the Au Sable, Pere Marquette, Manistee, Muskegon, and Boardman have earned worldwide reputations for healthy populations of brown, rainbow, and brook trout. Spring hatches of Hendricksons, Hexagenia, and salmonflies draw anglers from across the country, while seasonal runs of Chinook salmon, coho salmon, steelhead, and lake-run brown trout provide exciting opportunities throughout much of the year.
