Orvis Recon Saltwater Fly Rod
Description
The Story
Built for anglers who fish hard and travel light, the Orvis Recon Saltwater Fly Rod delivers high-end saltwater performance in a rugged, go-anywhere package. Drawing on construction techniques inspired by Orvis’s flagship Helios™ series, Recon Salt is engineered for exceptional durability without giving up castability, accuracy, or feel.
Designed to thrive in demanding saltwater environments, Recon Salt features increased hoop strength for enhanced lifting power, giving anglers the confidence to pressure strong fish and manage heavy lines. Pinpoint tracking improves accuracy on long casts in wind, while a smooth, forgiving load at close range makes quick shots and short presentations easier—critical when fish show up close and fast.
From slipping baitfish patterns tight to mangroves to covering open flats for cruising fish, Recon Salt is built to adapt. There’s no unnecessary flash—just a tough, versatile saltwater fly rod designed by anglers who value time on the water over hype. The Recon lineup includes six dedicated saltwater models, purpose-built for coastal and tropical fisheries.
Proudly Made in the USA and backed by a 25-Year Guarantee, the Recon Saltwater Fly Rod is a reliable workhorse for anglers chasing everything from inshore species to tropical flats predators.
