Description
The Sage TROUT Fly Reel blends traditional fly reel styling with modern drag performance and construction. Inspired by Sage's classic 500 Series reels, the TROUT features a narrow, full-frame design and understated appearance that pairs especially well with today's premium trout rods.
Behind the classic looks is Sage's proven Sealed Carbon System (SCS) drag, providing smooth, consistent pressure for protecting light tippets while still giving us the control needed when a larger trout gets into the current. The sealed design keeps water, sand, and grit away from the drag components for dependable performance season after season.
The machined aluminum full frame provides added rigidity and prevents line from slipping between the spool and frame. A large arbor allows for quick line pickup, while the concave, ported arbor adds strength and provides plenty of backing capacity without giving the reel an overly modern, heavily ported appearance.
Available in three sizes, the 2/3/4 is an excellent match for lighter trout rods, the 4/5/6 covers the majority of everyday trout fishing, and the larger 6/7/8 provides the capacity and balance needed for bigger trout setups and light salmon or steelhead duty.
