New York can sure pump out some nice steelhead. Jeffrey shows us a great one that he caught recently on a rather well known steelhead stream upstate. Here is what he had to share about his experience:

"steelhead was caught on December 16th around 8 in the morning. It slammed a tan colored size 12 stone fly. It immediately started jumping and shot down river at a 100 mph. A guy that I got to know the day before, grabbed his net and helped me land this beautiful hen! But not before we had to weave in and out of people and trees! The air and water temp was about 34 degrees. I was leaving in a few hours and went 2 for 7, not that great of a landing ratio but that's what makes Steelhead fishing so awesome!"
