Louisiana is a paradise for warmwater and saltwater fly anglers. Endless bayous, marshes, rivers, and backwaters create one of the most productive fisheries in the country, where every cast has the potential to connect with something exciting. It's a place where fishing is woven into the culture, and few states offer as much year-round opportunity.

The state's coastal marshes are best known for redfish. Thousands of miles of shallow ponds, grass flats, and winding bayous provide ideal habitat for sight-fishing these hard-fighting fish, making Louisiana one of the premier redfish destinations in North America. Speckled trout, black drum, sheepshead, jack crevalle, and seasonal tarpon add even more variety for saltwater fly anglers.

Away from the coast, Louisiana's rivers, oxbows, and lakes offer excellent fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. Cypress swamps draped in Spanish moss create a setting unlike anywhere else in the country, while the incredible diversity of fish and habitat ensures that no two days on the water are ever quite the same.
