The remote atolls of the Pacific offer some of the most unique and exciting saltwater fly fishing on the planet. Endless flats, pristine reefs, crystal-clear water, and an incredible variety of species make destinations like Christmas Island the kind of places every saltwater angler should experience at least once.

Giant Trevally are the headliners. Few experiences in fly fishing compare to watching a GT appear on a shallow flat, charge a fly, and immediately test every piece of gear you brought with you. These powerful predators are one of the ultimate targets in saltwater fly fishing.

But the flats offer much more than GTs. Bonefish provide consistent sight-fishing opportunities, while triggerfish offer a completely different challenge. Triggers can be incredibly wary and frustrating, but watching one tail on a shallow flat before finally committing to a fly makes them one of the most rewarding fish you can target.

Beyond the big three, these atolls are home to an incredible variety of species, with opportunities for bluefin trevally, golden trevally, milkfish, reef fish, and more. You never know what might appear on the next flat.
