Where to Fish - Snoqualmie River (Upper Forks), Washignton

Where to Fish - Snoqualmie River (Upper Forks), Washignton

Above the mighty and famous Snoqualmie Falls, the frantic fast-paced salmon fishery of the lower river slows to a halt and gives way to an easy-going set of trout streams.  The upper forks of the Snoqualmie River are intimate, fun little trout streams.  Most folks fish the Middle or South Forks, but the North Fork is also available for exploring.  These rivers do not host a ton of bug life, but there are tons of eager fish that love dry flies.

The pressure is light, and the action is usually pretty solid.  One fork has a lot of fish in smaller sizes, one fork has some decent-sized fish in smaller numbers, and one fork has few fish and fewer numbers.  Its really up to an angler to give it some time to figure out.

All of the forks can be accessed within 30 minutes of North Bend, WA.  Not all of them have equal access, but all of them do have some public access.

Below the forks, but above the famous Snoqualmie Falls, there is a ton of easy water, eager trout and plenty of access.

Below the falls, its predominately a steelhead and salmon river, but it does receive a HUGE run of Sea-Run Cutthroat trout in September.

The pristine surroundings and easy access from Seattle makes this a great place to spend a day fishing.
